Harvest App

Just wanted to write a quick post about the time tracking app we use at Sevenwire. It’s called Harvest, and so far we’re pretty happy with it. Their dashboard widget makes it easy to switch between projects and make notes about what you’re working on. I was able to use their iPhone app for the first time today as well. I left a timer running (as I often do) and remembered on the walk home, so I opened up the iPhone app and turned it off. Though, I just opened up the dashboard widget again, and looks like it still had the timer running anyway, so I’m gonna have to look into that.

On a day full of context switching (bleh), Nate and I thought it would be great if we had some big buttons with our clients’ logos on them that we could punch when we switch between projects. Brandon pointed out the Optimus Aux Keyboard might work. So that might be fun to try to integrate down the road if it’s not too expensive. Judging by the full keyboard, it might be.

    hey Steve,

If you do have any issues with data not syncing up between all your devices for Harvest, please do feel free to contact us. We know that the iPhone app does tend to take a little extra time to sync up so it won’t feel as instantaneous for the moment. We’re working with the guys behind that iPhone app to make sure this is addressed in the next release!

    cheers,
    Danny

    Hi Steve,

Thanks so much for the kind words about Harvest, we’re glad you’re enjoying the software and finding it useful. You’ve brought up a great idea (Having easily accessible buttons for the clients you deal with the most), and we are planning to introduce a similar feature to Harvest at some point in the future. We’d love to hear any other feedback and suggestions you might have, so please feel free to get in touch.
