It’s super quiet except for the occasional house noise, or distant truck struggling up a hill. A little creepy. I’m fighting the urge to think of scenes from The Shining. It probably didn’t help that I drank some caffeine then went to bed early.

Last year around this time I started writing one post every day. Even though I only made it through a few months, it was a great excercise, so I’m trying it again. It should be a little easier this time since i’m so secluded.

Also my beautiful girlfriend Jenni will be staring up her regular blogging as well, so check it out.

When eBay was first gaining popularity I bought a good amount of stuff there, but I never actually sold anything. I think it was the hassle of having to package something and send it off that kept me from trying.

Now, however, I’m on a kick to get rid of as much stuff as I can, and I might as well try to make some extra cash while I do it. This started with a dream to become super portable, to the point where I could carry everything I own with me wherever I travel. That’s more possible than ever these days, but it still would be pretty difficult. I’m also considering buying a home soon (not very portable) and the less I have to move the better.

I’ve gathered a lot of crap over the years, and most of it has just continued to lose value. So the sooner the better. I just want to start with one thing though, and go from there. Now to choose what that one thing will be…

I realized lately that I distinguish years in my mind by the international trip I went on in that year.

• 2003 – South Africa
• 2004 – Greece (Olympics)
• 2005 – Nowheres, boo
• 2006 – China
• 2007 – Kenya
• 2008 – Asia (MBA trip)

I have a pretty bad memory, so I better keep it up! I need to figure out where to go this year. Maybe I’ll go to the Dominican Republic on another missions trip, or I might just get up and move somewhere like Costa Rica or Singapore. I’m really considering that. We’ll see.
